ROB CRAWFORD, Owner/President

Robert Crawford founded Renaissance South Construction Company in 2008. Rob has specialized in working for private clients in the form of renovations, restorations and custom building of the highest quality for fifteen years. Rob has served on the Board of Directors for the Charleston Home Builders Association since 2009, and the executive committee since 2012. He spearheaded the formation of the Charleston Guild, and has served as Chairman in 2012, 2013, and 2015. Passionate about giving back to his community, Rob has served on the Board of Directors for the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club since 2011 and will be president for the 2015-16 year. He was the recipient of the Rotary’s Service Above Self award in 2009. Rob was also the recipient of the Charleston Forty under 40 in 2012. When he isn’t working, Rob can be found fishing or playing on the water with his wife, Ginny, and their three boys.

  • Todd Fairfax
      Todd FairfaxChief Operations Officer

      Todd Fairfax grew up in a rural part of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He spent his teenage years in the Boston Area and graduated from Trinity College. He joined an established custom homebuilding company and was fortunate to work side by side with some talented builders and craftsman. His company the Fairfax Group specialized in working with historically significant structures in Boston. After graduate school he joined a large national homebuilder in Denver, Colorado and eventually ran their Charleston Division. He joined Renaissance South Construction Co. in 2011. Todd enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his three sons and wife.

    • Jim Richmond
        Jim RichmondProject Manager

        Jim Richmond followed his love of woodworking, like his father and grandfather before him, and started framing houses on Kiawah Island a little over thirty years ago. His company, Richmond Construction, went on to build houses on Kiawah before Jim was hired as a project manager by a high-end custom homebuilder and remodeler on the Island. His desire to work closer to his Mount Pleasant home led Jim to join Renaissance South Construction Co. last year. Jim loves his wife, two girls, fishing, and farming; he actively plants for the hungry and donates hundreds of pounds of produce each year.

      • Justin Smithson
          Justin SmithsonProject Manager

          Justin Smithson got his start in the construction business in Augusta, GA in 1999. Originally building speculative homes, Justin moved to Charleston in 2009 and started remodeling. With a family history in the business dating back to the 1950’s, Justin credits his love of building to his father and his grandfather. He considers the job a hobby, and feels lucky to be able to do what he loves every day. Justin spends his time outside of work with his wife and two children. He joined Renaissance South Construction in 2014.

        • Anne Hassold Harris
            Anne Hassold HarrisDesigner/Selections Coordinator

            Anne Harris joined Renaissance South Construction Co. in January 2013. With a degree in Communication from Clemson University, Anne has taken coursework in both Interior Design and Architectural Drafting. Her favorite part of the job is watching the client’s personalities shine through in their homes as each project comes together. Anne resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband and their two young children.

          • Ron Bureau
              Ron BureauProject Manager

              Ron Bureau got his start in the business in 1965 shadowing his father, a master carpenter, in the New York area. Ron continued to work in the construction industry from that point forward, covering every aspect of homebuilding. Fifty years after he started, Ron’s love of building still holds true. When not at work, Ron likes spending time with his wife and son and is a big sporting fan.

            • David Herring
                David HerringPre-Construction Manager

                David Herring graduated from of Emory & Henry College in 1998. Dave worked in the Environmental Consulting field and served in the Peace Corps prior to moving to the Charleston Area in 2003. He has been involved in all facets of the construction sector for over 11 years performing a variety of roles including carpentry, management, home inspection, sales, and estimating. Dave joined Renaissance South as Pre-Construction Manager in March 2014. He is a long-time runner and lives in Charleston with his wife, son, and daughter.

              • Mary Daniels
                  Mary DanielsController

                  Mary Daniels joined Renaissance South as Controller in October 2014. Originally from the United Kingdom, Mary spent time in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Charleston in 2009. Mary has worked in the accounting/tax profession for over 25 years. She loves adventure, has participated in four 300-mile charity bike rides and made a sky dive for a local hospital in the UK. Mary lives on Johns Island with her husband, Terry, and their two dogs.
